Ratings & Reviews of Camp Barkalot & Foxy Pooches
  1. My dog loves it here!
We recently moved here from out of state and I found Camp Barkalot online. I tried it out and have gone back many times since our first visit. I have a pitbull/black lab mix and many doggy daycare places discriminate against pit mixes but not this place. My dog always loves going to play here and I feel completely at ease dropping her off to play for the day. The owners are extremely well organized, friendly and professional and we have been nothing but impressed with how their operation runs. Not to mention, my dog always comes home happy and tired! I highly recommend this place. (ChompySue, 11/03/2009)

I found Camp Bark A Lot searching on the internet and have had a really good experience. I take two of my dog's here on a regular basis I have a British Bulldog and a Chiuaua that come here on a regular basis the facilities are big and clean. They have really fare prices. I bring my dogs here because I cannot trust my 5 year old with my dogs. These guys have trained pros watching these dogs all day and they have great facilities. Just talk to Dave or Chris when you go here Chris and Dave are great. AAAAAAAAAAAAAA+++++++ (HunterSM, 10/20/2009)

  3. Great daycare
Finally, I found a daycare where my dog is happy! This facility is always clean, and there are windows where you can see the play area from the lobby. There is always at least two people in the back watching the dogs, so you don't have to worry about them being left unattended. The owners are there all the time and are very nice and friendly. My dog loves this place and always comes home sleepy and in a good mood. Thanks guys. (jilllodbrok, 10/11/2009)

  5. My dog loves Camp Barkalot!
The owners (I believe it's family owned) get to know the dogs and really seem to care about them. I'm a little concerned that my dog likes them better than me! I've taken 2 dogs to Camp Barkalot, and I have always felt that they are safe and happy. I love they have a big window where you can watch your dog play. They also separate the "big" dogs from the "little" dogs (or in my case, a medium-sized dog who thinks she's little), so your dog is safe and comfortable. The grooming is also great. They allow you to take your dogs in early in the day to play, and then, just before them pick them up, they will bathe them so that when you pick them up, they're slime-free (always a plus). I haven't boarded a dog yet, but am confident that when I do, my dog will have a better vacation than I do. I love this place! (christines605, 09/23/2009)

  7. FANTASTIC! BEYOND BEST DOG AND CAT KENNELL/BOARDING IN THE STATE!
We had both 4 cats and 2 dogs stay here for about 2 weeks! We just returned from living in Europe and they picked up our pets, helped with customs and did an absolute wonderful job! Highly recommended by someone that takes their pets seriously! Good prices and worth every Penny! The best part is that your animals gets to walk around instead of being caged up. 8. I love Camp Barkalot!
Camp Barkalot is great. The owners and staff are so nice. They took the time to remember my name as well as my dog and are always quick to greet us whenever we walk in. I've never used them for overnight boarding but the day care is wonderful. They are conveniently located so I can drop my dog off on the way to work and know that she's playing in a safe, clean environment. I love picking up a happy, tired dog! (bacc2301, 05/28/2008)

  10. Best doggy day care and grooming!
We absolutely LOVE Camp Bark a Lot. They are well priced and the staff is amazing. They remember my dog from day one, and treat her like their own. They make sure all of the dogs are happy, fed and hydrated. So when we pick her up, she's ready for a nap! It's extremely clean and professional. We also take our dog to their groomer, and she is the BEST. We recommend Camp Bark a lot of boarding, grooming and day care!! (ajgleim, 05/19/2008)

  11. Camp bark a lot
We have taken our dogs there twice and they have so much fun. The folks there are friendly and seem to really love what they do. We took our dogs to a vet kennel once and it was terrible. At camp bark a lot the dogs get lot's of interaction and are taken outside frequently. I give it 4 paws up! (marypt, 04/05/2008)

  13. Great Place
Hello and thank you to Camp Barkalot. I recently had to go on a cruise and leave my pride and joy behind. I was so nervous and scared!! My family was all going with us so we were unable to leave him with them. I was so pleased with how Camp Barkalot took care of my black lab. I called almost everyday to check on him and even had friends go by during the week. We were so happy with the care he recieved we are actually going to use them when ever we go out of town now. I would reccomend Camp Barkalot to anyone who is worried about leaving there dog with someone. (yankeefan24, 02/19/2008)

  14. Best boarding and daycare around.
We have used Camp Barkalot many times for boarding and daycare and have always been very pleased how our dog has been treated. When we pull up to drop her off she literally pulls me through the door to get in. Our dogs happy reaction tells us this is the place for her. (uoualumni76, 02/01/2008)

  16. not a good experience
I took both of my dogs to stay for a few days while my husband and I went out of town. We brought our dogs own food and were told that was okay and they would be fed that food. When we picked the dogs up they both smelled very strongly of urine, as if they hadn't been out in a long while. Their bedding was also heavily soiled and smelled very foul. We returned home to find that in our bag, their entire supply of food was still with us. I am fairly sure that they were fed, but we specifically asked that they be fed their own food and were told by Camp Barkalot staff they this wouldn't be a problem. I am currently searching for a new place to take my dogs this weekend because I will never go back to Camp Barkalot. (me121211, 01/29/2008)

  17. Bad Experience
Before a long Thanksgiving trip, we took our dogs first for an evaluation visit, then for an overnight stay, to decide if this kennel would work for our dogs. Everything seemed fine, and after the overnight stay, we asked for a wash for both dogs. About five days later, I was shocked to notice that one of our dogs was injured. We took him in to an emergency vet, thinking he had simply fallen or cut himself in the house. When he was shaved to get a look at the wound, his entire back was covered with running sores, the likes of which I have NEVER seen. The vet was distressed too, and told us it looked like an allergic reaction that had become infected. The kind that might come from a strong reaction to, say, shampoo. We told him about the trip to Camp Barkalot, and he thought the timing was right. He also told us there was a good chance our dog would not survive this secondary infection. Needless to say, we called Camp Barkalot the next day to see if anything like this had happened before. We were told, ?Oh yeah, we had a Great Dane a couple months ago have a reaction like that to the shampoo.? Oh. So, why wouldn?t you change shampoos? Why wouldn?t you warn people? Why wouldn?t you even offer an apology? Luckily, everything has worked out. Our dog did recover, we have found a kennel we like, and all of us are doing well. We had one other interaction with Camp Barkalot. My husband went in to pick up our dogs? records to take to the other kennel. He again spoke with staff about what had happened. The response was pretty much: Oh, well. Needless to say, our dogs will not be going back, and I have talked to other dog owners I know recommending a switch. In a time of contentious lawsuits, I can understand that businesses are cautious. Additionally, I understand accidents happen. But why not offer a simple apology, or call to see how our dog has fared? Why not switch from such a problematic shampoo? I am not sure, but I would recommend going elsewhere.
