Ratings & Reviews of Uniglass
  1. Had my windshield replaced by them. As a result, I now have to replace a dead battery...
I had my safety and emissions checked on my van at another place that referred me to Uniglass to replace a cracked windshield that failed a safety check. Everything went well initially, and the technician was very professional. He came to my work and replaced the windshield, but in the process of removing the old windshield, he broke a windshield wiper arm. As a result, I could not pass my safety check with a missing wiper, and had to drive the van home from work and leave it there for two weeks (unregistered) while I waited for the replacement wiper to come in. The technician kept regular contact with me over the matter, and I appreciated that. He installed new wiper arm yesterday (two weeks after he replaced the windshield.) Today, I got into my car to take it back into the place I initially failed the test, and it would not start. I found that the technician had inadvertently bumped one of the interior lights overhead while in the process of installing the car two weeks prior, and I had not noticed that the light was left on when I drove the van home. (In case you might be thinking that I left the light on by accident: there is no reason why I would have turned the light on since I drove it home in daylight, and haven't been in the vehicle since today.) I discovered also through a little research online that leaving a car battery dead for extended periods of time results in damage to the battery. The cells build up sulfate deposits between the plates and short out, as is the case with my battery which now reads about 10.5V, and won't accept a charge. I called them and told them about all of this, and since I drove the car home from where the windshield was initially installed, they say they cannot be held responsible for the condition of my battery. I am very frurstrated with their lack of concern for me, and hope that this review will dissuade anyone who is serious about having Uniglass replace their windshield. I know the technician did not mean to turn on the interior light, but they need to step up and be responsible for their mistakes, and pay for the damage they do. Any customer-oriented business knows this. My advice to anyone considering Uniglass as an alternative: CONSIDER SOMEONE ELSE. (Bradsomething, 09/16/2009)
